END OF SUMMER - LAST DRAWINGS - BACK TO SCHOOOOOL

Been meaning to upload this one for a long while. A kid actually requested Left 4 Dead. Incredible. Sadly I never got a Team Fortress 2 request though I did sneak the Scout into a few baseball drawings and a few other characters elsewhere.

The little girl on the right wanted to be in a submarine. I took it one step further. This is also probably the most bizarrre Shamu I've ever drawn - I wanted it to look like a Sea of Monsters creature. Also note the fab 4 in the windows of the sub.

Beasted this one for fun and it turned out cool

Always meant to draw a muscleman beachbabe scene like this but never got around to it. I dig it. Also this nice couple bought a frame for it.

This kid was overly concerned with looking badass for his muscle drawing. He even wanted to be drawn with spikey hair though I insisted he keep his hat, since it looked awesome. He wanted skulls on his swim trunks too. Anyway with the shark in the background this looks almost like a 'after' picture to his brother's (see below) 'before.'

His brother requested himself punching a shark. I've actually gotten a 'kung fu kicking a shark' request before too. Anyway he wanted a muscleman body as well. As you can see since he asked to be doing an uppercut, I couldn't help but make it the classic street fighter 4 move - the SharkYouken! Originally he even wanted blue shorts but I told him (without telling him why) that for the idea I have it has to be either red or white shorts. (Ryu or Ken obviously.) He chose Ken, of course.
*Sniff* this drawing makes me sad though because it's literally the last one for me this season. Bye bye, sea world! Bye bye, Kamans! It's been a blast!

End of the season update....

Welp, I go back to school next week and this past week is down to 9pm shifts and fewer artists at the booths. The crowds are predictably terrible which is a shame because in spite of going back to school and all I'm eager as heck to draw draw draw. Welp, at least I'm getting some fun drawings in in spite of the low guest turnout.

Probably one of my favorites.

HARRY POTTER

Awesome folks who are family friends with Steve Silver and his brother. They wanted one of themselves camping and well, this is what I thought of.
Couple who told me to do whatever I wanted for the subject. So I did.

Heh.

Fun drawing, and I didn't know anything about the logo he wanted me to add, weirdly.

This was a doozy.

I love the wistful look of the girl on the right.

Nice family whose kids artfully decided to clash with their parents theme, creating this bizarre (and very fun to draw) image.

I also love how Yoda turned out.

I love how the guy on the right turned out but I messed up the girl on the left a bit. Overall pretty fun.

NANANANANANANANANANANANANA

Girl who wanted herself dancing Jazz. For some reason I thought of Fleischer brothers 'toons. I almost colored her in black and white too but figured it would look better this way.

Awesome Ma and kid who got 3 drawings from me. Here's the last one I did-star wars with big boobs. (She asked for that.)

Something I added to her drawing - she was the world record holder in the late 1970's (78 I think) for biggest bubblegum bubble.

Here's the drawing before I added that detail. She provided me with picture reference of her Hemi.

And of the kiddo with her, dirtbikin' like a pro.
All in all those two were probably my favorite customers all season - really nice people and a fun and interesting chat.

Megaupdate

Jazzing up an otherwise boring Shamu is quite fun. I seem to be heading on a more quasi-real shamu lately though.

This family wanted Han Solo and a blowfish. Yeah. I don't know either. But it turned out fun in any case.
The same family who got the Han Solo Blowfish also asked for a World Of Warcraft drawing. Boy was I stoked. Here's a blood elf mage and a human death knight.

Jazzing up a 'draw us on a shark' request. Teehee.

A triple request for golfing. The girls each wanted their own specifica action - swinging a club, drinking, and driving a golf cart. I was happy to oblige.

While running down a little list of request ideas the boy here pounced on 'monsters.' When I asked him what monster I listed several, incuding 'mummy' - which he chose. His parents wanted a shark, however - so they came to a compromise. I think it turned out plenty funny. Lovin' that shark.

The woman on the right had an epic hat. Also Gunshowcomic.com readers will notice a strong resemblence to a particular character.

This is my first green lantern drawing. Also this family waited patiently for ME to draw them after seeing me do my stuff. They even bought a frame, the dolls.

Fast fun & loose spidey. I love how the face turned out.

Jazzing up a 'draw us at the beach' request. I wanted to just plain make them look goofy. Somehow it seemed appropriate to do what I did to the girl's arm on the right.

This drawing isn't that great but it's my first Storm request.

This one just feels solid overall. Personally I think it's my best Shamu drawing to date.

Daawwwwwwwwww...

The devil made me do it.

Man, today was TERRIBLE sales-wise. I didn't even sell any frames. However, drawing wise, I felt great.

This was the drawing where I hit my stride. Here's an example of where I try to take a typically boring request subject - in this case, dolphin - and try to jazz it up a bit. In this case by warping the background.

Like the dolphin, here's me trying to jazz up the boring & typical mermaid request a little bit.

A softball catcher request. Yes, that batter is getting sliced in half.

More jazzing up of the boring and typical. This family suggested soccer then suggested shamu. I decided to combine the two. I also love how this particular Shamu turned out.

Batman is not and never should be boring. Unfortunately I have done a lot of boring batman drawings and seen boring ones done by others. Here's my attempt at re-enacting one of my favorite scenes from Dark Knight - the skyhook.

I wish I photographed this girl. She had an amazing hat. I really love how this one turned out too and would love to have a side by side comparison for it. Also, she requested to be with her Chihuahua for the picture.

I think this is my first real successful attempt at jazzing up a 'boring' subject. Making a muscle man and beach babe into...well...this. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun making this drawing.

This nice couple asked me to draw them face-only. I wish more people would do that. Gives me an excellent opportunity...

...To do stuff like this.

Such a pretty angel.

Old scratch ends a devilish day.

Gitalong little sharkies.

This family got 2 from me. (see the car below) This kid was discussing xgames with his brother a lot prior to me drawing him.

Getting freaky with skateboard drawings.

This lovely lass reminded me of a Robert Crumb woman, so I gave her the appropriate 'tude.

The Dad here actually had reference for that mustang on the back of his shirt. He turned around when I was drawing and coloring it. I wish all vehicle requests came with their own reference.

Heh.

Two former sea world employees. They were a cool pair.

I love the faces in this - just wish I hadn't crammed the shark on the left the way I did. Looking at it now I already see a better solution of where to have placed the shark's snout. Hindsight is a bitch.

I think this is my favorite drawing overall from yesterday.
